What a wonderful opportunity! Thank you so much for this chance to win. We try to have family together time for at least a little bit every day - whether it is reading books or lots of cuddles and laughs, it helps us all stay focused on what's important.
ReplyDeleteMealtime is my favorite. Getting everyone up and ready, then sitting down to a nice warm bowl of oatmeal. Ending the day with a dinner we all(mostly all) helped out with, reliving favorite moments of the day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the awesome offer!
we try to stay connected with weekends spent together. My husband works longs shifts and dinner all together isn't generally possible.
ReplyDeleteWe do generally everything together. We school together, we worship together, we don't take vacations without the kids. Everything we do is as a family unit,
ReplyDeleteThis class sounds so wonderful! Staying connected is hard, with kids of widely different ages, crazy work schedules, and so many commitments pulling us in all directions, but we try to eat dinner together as often as possible, plus do something all together on the weekends.
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway!
ReplyDeleteWeekends are our together time here. Dinner is often without my husband due to long hours. We also travel a lot as my husband travels for work quite frequently. Thats one of the reasons we plan to homeschool - so we can continue to travel together during the school year.
Staying connected to my family...Hmmm. I homeschool my children, so staying connected to them is easy simply through being there for the "ah-ha" moments. Staying connected with my husband - for that I always make myself available to simply be with him especially after the boys are in bed, even if it is simply to watch a baseball game with him. A for the rest of my family, we are spread throughout the world at times. We use social media to stay in touch, but to really connect in a meaningful way, we still write letters that can be treasured and reread for years to come.
ReplyDeleteWe are working on actually sitting down to dinner instead of being on the run so much. Also, we do "rose and thorn" at dinner to share a good and not-so-good part of our day. I am a FB fan! Thanks for the giveaway :)
ReplyDeleteWe eat meals together most of the time and we talk about our day while we eat. My husband and I take turns in telling stories to our son at night then we pray together before we sleep. Then we go out on weekends like do the groceries or jog in a nearby park or go to my parents house where we also connect with our extended family.
ReplyDeleteI make sure to talk with everyone about their day.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome giveaway, and I could SO use this re-charge time :) It has been a rocky couple of months because I have been in chronic pain from a recently diagnosed back condition, so staying connected is that much more important. We eat together, play and laugh together, but my most favorite time is when we cuddle together in the mornings before we get out of bed. Hugging, tickling, laughing...hide and seek under the covers...it's a blast! I only wish I felt better more so that we could get out and have more fun.
ReplyDeleteI try to stay connected to the kids through daily rituals - singing "lavender blue, lavender green" while washing hands with a warm, scented cloth before naps is one of my favorites. I also try to get good rough-and-tumble play in with them daily, like a game where my son shoves me over on the bed while I boast about how big and strong I am. We have dinner together as a family and share "favorites" of the day, and then after dinner has become really special - we light a candle and model with beeswax while Mama tells a story, and then Daddy takes the kids for a bath and a story in bed. I'm a FB fan of both pages and would love the opportunity for refreshing our rhythm - thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteDaily our bedtime is the time to connect as dad works some late hours often and is not there for dinner. Our nightly routine keeps us connected. On a bigger picture, church and active pursuits outside bring us together also.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this giveaway!
ReplyDeleteWe like gathering for our evening meal together and telling about our day and plans for the next day.
what a great giveaway. we connect in lots of little ways, playing games together, reading books at bed time, family meals at the dinner table are a must. and on occasion shared chores. LOL
ReplyDeletei am not on FB if that matters or not.
Dinnertime is our time to reconnect on a daily basis. On the weekends Dad makes pancakes, as he is gone every morning before the kids wake up during the week. It gives us a chance to slow down, giggle and share stories.
ReplyDeleteOur evening is our reconnection time, and it's funny, our dishwasher is out of commission and now that time seems more peaceful. We eat dinner together, then read a book (Anne's House of Dreams, just now) then Dad reads poetry with the kids. It's a nice way to reconnect with him after he is gone all day.
ReplyDeleteI find that the time we re-connect in the car on the way home from school is precious! We all share what we have done in a very easy going way, no probing, just chatting. During dinner we then get a chance to delve deeper, if needed.
ReplyDeleteOur way home from school is a wonderful easy-going time to re-connect after a day apart. Then we make dinner, eat together, read and go to bed.
ReplyDeleteNature. Nature. Nature!! My husband often works late and sometimes even needs to leave before my son is up in the morning. If he is home in the mornings, we will walk outside in our own backyard or a local trail. On the weekends we often plan a hike day - snacks included(sometimes the most fun part!).
ReplyDeleteBeing in nature firstly connects each one of us with ourselves - it slows us all down - and that "slow space" naturally opens us all up for greater connection with one another.
This is great! I really try to give my children as much unstructured play time in the afternoons as possible and to be outside as often as we can, but we sometimes get caught up in "stuff to do." This is a perfect time of year to recharge and renew our commitment to just "be"ing together-- outside, by the fire, cuddled up in bed and around the table. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis is great! I work hard to make sure my children get plenty of outside time and unstructured play time after school. Sometimes, though, we get caught up in all the "stuff we have to do." What a great way to recharge and to reconnect with what's important-- time outside, by the fire, snuggled in bed, and around the table. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMeal times (especially dinner) and our story hour that we have between bath and bed. Dim lights, a recap of the day for daddy, and just a relaxing time to unwind...
ReplyDeleteI like both on facebook, btw... this would be great thing to win <3 I still have a long way to go with rhythm
I try to limit the things I get involved in. I'm a joiner and love being a part of non-profits and volunteer opportunities but I have to make myself available to my family as well. So I only do one thing at a time. And we make family dinner a priority.
ReplyDelete-Amy
My son and I have Fridays together with no preschool or work to spend time together, it is so valuable to me and this time together won't be available once my son starts big school, so we take this opportunity while we can.
ReplyDeleteGetting out of the house together and going on an adventure as a family always helps. At home, it feels like there is always a never ending list of things to do, but when we are out together we can only focus on each other and the place we are. We love to go on hikes or visit the river.
ReplyDeleteWe hit the road and go on adventures together. At home, our to do list in never-ending. But when we head somewhere else we have the time and space to focus on each other and play. We usually go on a hike or explore a new (to us) natural area.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful giveaway... We try to connect by having mealtimes together, as well as a strong bedtime ritual including reading together every night. Would love more ideas though!
ReplyDeleteWe stay connected by sharing gratitude at dinnertime, parenting peacefully, and snuggling together at bedtime!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway! (hoping this doesn't post twice) We try to stay connected with regular family mealtimes as well as a strong bedtime rhythm including reading together nightly. Would love some more ideas!
