Yesterday, for Candlemas, we made true 'BLUE'berry pancakes. We added our blueberries directly into the batter to make the entire pancake blue!

The girls were lucky enough to have a snow day so we had a great time together celebrating this sweet festival. Candlemas is also the same day as Groundhog's Day and guess what??? Mr. Groundhog predicts an early Spring - We sure need it after all this snow and ICE!

We enjoyed our meal together and I shared a few of the verses from my
February Enrichment Guide. Sometimes it begins to feel silly sharing poems and verses with my older daughters but I work hard to move past that feeling so they can enjoy the beauty of the words.

How did you celebrate?
What a lovely day you had! We made paintings (lots of fingers in paint and swirls for candle flames), saw the first snowdrops in our garden and read our snowdrop stories and poems, including our Little Acorn ones :))
ReplyDeleteWe celebrated in the evening with a meal and a small ceremony in which we created a Family Candle to burn the rest of the winter. We each added to it and focused on what "family" and "home" means to us. http://loveinthesuburbs.com/wordpress/our-imbolc-celebration
