St. Patrick's Day

Well first off, we weren't lucky enough to catch the leprechaun.... BUT, we did manage to make him leave behind some of his little bags of gold (four to be exact!) and a few coins...
Imagine our surprise when we opened the bags and found out the 'gold' was actually covered chocolate!

On St. Patrick's Day, we all took the day off and took the girls down to the parade in NYC.

We took the train down this time instead of driving and the girls loved it. It was a fun experience for them.

We got to Grand Central and took a subway to the parade. We met up with my cousin Siobhan along with my dad, step-mom and a few friends.

Maia's silent enjoyment :)

This was one of the hardest parts of watching the parade... 343 firefighters died in the 9/11 attacks... each one of the flags being held represents one firefighter's life.

We are so grateful for their sacrifice and service to our country.

Who doesn't love men in skirts?
Irish dancing :)

When I was a little girl, my nanny would take me and my cousins Siobhan, Tara and Michael to the parade... she'd dress us all up in green and we'd stay through the entire thing. It was just one of the ways we celebrated our Irish heritage. I know she would just love the fact that we took our girls down this year.

You may notice the girls are wearing Jets shirts.... as you can imagine, Brian helped dress them this morning!
It was really funny - one of the policemen must be a huge Jets fan also and he saw our girls and screamed J-E-T-S, JETS JETS JETS so loud marching by us... I think Maia almost jumped out of her jersey LOL

Mayor Bloomberg marched by us two times :)

Kerri, Matt and their family..
Papa, Jill and their grandchildren

My beautiful Dee
Look at these girls - I want to squeeze them all!
Hope you enjoyed your St. Patrick's Day too!
