For Valentine's Day

Out of a snow cloud, cold and gray,
Something dropped on St. Valentine's Day,

Whirling and twirling and soft and light,
Like wee little letters all dainty and white,

And I guess the sky children were sending down,
This Valentine straight to the children in town.

Will you be my Valentine?

I left a little sweetness out for my four lovely girls...
I hope they felt the love I have for each one of them today.
A special silk, sweet felt dolls, play clips and a lollipop for the three little ones...

And a wrapped amber necklace and some sweets for my teen girl.

My loves left me a few presents too. Chocolates!
Sweet cards.

And flowers and a day at the Spa - wow!

xoxo

Happy Valentine's Day!

A Valentine for Mother

I want to send my sweetheart dear

A little Valentine

All made of hearts and arrows bright

On lacy paper fine

And 'way up in the corner too

It will have a little dove,

And underneath this message sweet "To Mother, with my love."

Little Heart Baby

My daughter and I wanted to make something different to celebrate Valentine's Day - after some fiddling around we ended up with this little Heart Baby.

We started by needle felting two styrofoam balls with red wool roving. I then added a toothpick to join the two together.

We continued needle felting until the wool was firm. Then took a small cutter in the shape of a heart and created a little white heart face.
We attached the face to the body and decided she needed some sleepy eyes
Using pulled out strands of black yarn, we made very simple eyes for our baby.

I love it when we begin working without knowing what we are going to make. This was a simple little craft but my daughter loves it and has now added her new Heart Baby to our dollhouse for Valentine's Day play :)
