We love to recycle artwork and drawings that we have created and enjoyed. Kids can go through a lot of paper and recycling that helps!
ReplyDeleteWe recycle paper and cans, and compost scraps. We also use cloth napkins and wash cloths.
ReplyDeleteWe teach our little ones about composting- especially the cocept that everything will eventually go back to the earth, feeding it and ourselves. (Ideally, unfortunately we still have a trash can that has to be emptied.)
ReplyDeleteWe have been paper towel-free since our daughter was born; as she's learned to keep our home clean and take responsibility for her school area she's always used reusable products!

ReplyDeleteWe have always used homemade cloth napkins, hand crocheted wash cloths and dish cloths and towels, and we recycle all paper products, cans and glass.
ReplyDeleteWe recycle, do not use paper products (although we have an emergency roll of paper towels in the basement), have a small garden, compost when it is warm out and make most of our food from scratch :)
ReplyDeleteWe do a lot of things. We are also paper towel free in our house. We also shop for toys and clothes at several of the used toy stores and thrift stores. We recycle, of course, and re-use things as much as possible. We buy organic food as much as possible.
ReplyDeleteWe have stopped using sponges for dishes. Instead, we use handknit dishcloths. We have always used cloth napkins. We recycle.

ReplyDeleteWe are in the process of making a lot of changes around our home! I am learning how to make our own toiletries and cleaning supplies; we are always careful to conserve energy and water; and we are slowly but surely cutting out paper waste! Little by little!!!

ReplyDeleteWe compost all food scraps, recycle paper/cardboard and plastics. Keep chickens and grow our own vegetables. Also purchase opportunity shop (charity shop) clothing and furniture. Am totally committed to re-use, recycle, re-purpose philosophy.
ReplyDeleteWe use our water coloring painting for many other projects once they are taken down from the gallery wall. We recycle everything we can and try to use reusable products instead of throw away items.

ReplyDeleteAt home my family recycle newspaper, plastic and cardboard packaging and in the Waldorf kindergarten me and all children recycle as much material as possible
ReplyDeleteWe are chemical free, use cloth napkins and rags for cleaning, and we recycle EVERYTHING! My children love to help carry our mountain of recycling out to our 90 gallon can every two weeks. We have also reduced our carbon footprint by choosing only local homeschooling programs this year, and switching to a part time work from home model for both my husband and I.
ReplyDeleteWe use cloth diapers. Almost all of my little one's clothing has been worn by at least one other person. We shop at yard sales and use freecycle.org. And we just keep passing things on when we are done with them. :)

We organic garden, compost and recycle. we also use environmentally cleaning products in our home, or make our own. We use rain barrels to collect water for irrigating the gardens, and conserve water at home. Great giveaway thank you for the chance!!

We recycle everything, grow some of our own food, make most things from scratch ( including soap and cleaning products), and we buy all our clothing at thrift stores or garage sales and when the kids grow out of the clothing we either donate them or upcycle them into something new!

My grandchildren have learned to recycle from me - paper, cardboard, plastics, etc., & we greatly limit use of plastic. Also we grow some of our food & use no chemicals. Thanks for what you do. ReplyDeleteWe noticed that our bathroom trash can frequently filled up with tissues from nose blowing - and little else. Now instead of one trash can in the bathroom we have a "compost" can for tissues and the other for the landfill. Nice teachable moments about what we can and cannot put in the compost and how we can avoid the trash!
ReplyDeleteWe try to do our part and teach the kids at the same time by growing some of our own food, composting kitchen and yard waste, recyling in the traditional way and also by using kids' artwork as wrapping paper, shopping at garage sales and thrift stores, and passing along our own used items to others. We also use the library a lot and ride our bikes there in good weather.

ReplyDeleteLove Mother Earth! We compost and are paper towel & napkin free. We use cloth bags for store purchases. We shop the dump store and second hand. In school we recycle art work to make cards, book covers and such. We try to use environmentally friendly paints,crayons, papers and glues. We use lots of "garbage" for our projects and building.
ReplyDeleteWe do an lot of arts and crafts with recycled items and visit our re-use shed at our local waste dump. As well as making donations we use it as a 'toy library': We bring a toy home, fix it together, give it a good clean, play with it for a week and return it the following week,
ReplyDeleteWe only ride bikes or walk, recycle, compost and garden. I like thrift shopping and I suppose that counts. The library is our main source of books and entertainment. We cloth diaper (only 1 in diapers now - but we have 3 kids that were all cloth diapered) and I have/am breastfed them all. We do a nature study as part of our homeschooling curriculum and enjoy as much time outdoors as possible!
