My life is but a weaving,
between my God and me,
I do not choose the colors,
He worketh steadily.
Ofttimes he weaveth sorrow,
and I in foolish pride
Forget He sees the upper,
and I the underside.
Not till the loom is silent,
and the shuttles cease to fly,
Will God unroll the canvas,
and explain the reasons why
The dark threads are as needful
in the skillful weaver's hand
As threads of gold and silver
in the pattern He has planned.

"A God's eye is a yarn weaving and a Huichol spiritual object. The Ojo de Dios or God's eye is a ritual tool, magical object, and cultural symbol evoking the weaving motif and its spiritual associations. For the Huichol peoples of western Mexico, the God's Eye is symbolic of the power of seeing and understanding that which is unknown and unknowable, The Mystery. The four points represent the elemental processes earth, fire, air, and water." ~Wikipedia
Maia's end of the year school party was so much fun. I organized the craft for the event and decided to teach the children how to weave God's Eyes with yarns and ribbons.
It took some time to get the hang of and I was lucky to have many moms and dads there to help work in groups...

Those are beautiful! :)
