Warmth

Week One - Caregiver Meditation

This Week’s Reflection: Warmth

“One kind word can warm three winter months.” ~ Japanese Proverb

When we think of keeping warm, we usually think of putting on more clothing, cooking hot foods or lighting a fire. And while physical warmth is very important for the care of our body, emotional warmth is essential for our soul’s healthy development.

If we take the time to listen to our words, both unspoken and articulated, we may be surprised by what we hear. Are the words you choose filled with love and acceptance when you communicate with those around you? Do you express warmth and comfort in your tone? How do you speak to yourself in your mind? Are you kind and forgiving? Do you use positive affirmations and send inspiring intentions?

Spend time this week listening to yourself and work harder to choose words filled with warmth and love. Pay close attention to how this effort makes a difference in the way you feel and the way others behave around you.
